Laptop bags made of used fire hose

Now every Notebook can be stowed away safely and stylishly, because since May of this year Cologne fashion label Feuerwear® offers laptop bags made of used fire hose in three great sizes. Alongside the already popular model Scott 15 for portable computers with screens up to 15“, the new products Scott 17 and Scott N13 now offer utmost carrying comfort for 17“ and 13“ laptops or small Netbooks. All the bags in the Scott family have a cushioned back, an adjustable shoulder strap and lots of additional inside compartments. The most practical thing about Scott bags is the padded inside Notebook sleeve that can be quickly and easily removed. All of these features make these bags the ideal companion, even on days when the computer has to stay at home.

Individual in every way

Scott 15, which has been on the market since the middle of last year, has already proven that. “The laptop bag is enjoying huge popularity. But more and more customers are looking for bags that are also suitable for larger or smaller Notebooks. With the three Scott models we now offer a product with the right dimensions for nearly every portable computer”, explains Martin Klüsener, designer and managing director of Feuerwear GmbH & Co. KG. And every bag and every accessory made by Feuerwear is a stylish one-of-a-kind piece, due to the material it is made of: used fire hose. Because over many years of tough fire-fighting duty a lot of soot, grease and mud, water and extreme heat leave behind unique traces on each individual hose. The carefully-selected fire hoses are thoroughly scrubbed, cut to size and then stitched and finished by hand. This way, a disused product is given a new purpose – as eco-friendly bags, belts, wallets and organizers – and also helps the environment as our production does not create any waste. The material, high-tensile polyester yarn with a long-lasting synthetic rubber lining, ensures that every Feuerwear® product is tough and sturdy.

The route to success

Feuerwear founder Martin Klüsener began producing bags and accessories of used fire hose back in 2005. In the meantime the Feuerwear® product range meets every need, from laptop bags to belts. And the list of members in the Feuerwear® product team – Scott, Hank, Bill & Co – sounds a lot like the names of the firefighters manning an American fire engine.
