Cologne, April 2011 - Sustainability is for Feuerwear always a hot topic. The basic idea: instead of burdening the environment as waste, the recycled firehose is used to produce new high-quality and extremely durable bags, belts and unusual accessories. Even before the processing by hand these firehoses have had many missions behind them and bear traces of fire, heat, mud and rubble. Exactly these traces make the bags, belts and accessories unique.

Sustainably protecting the environment

The theme of sustainability goes for Feuerwear far beyond the choice of material: because of transport and delivery the climate-damaging CO2 is released. By investing in climate protection projects of "atmosfair" these gases can be cut down in different places and so can the environment be preserved. Environmental awareness alone is for the founders of the Cologne’s fashion label not enough. Everything must be right also in terms of social justice. Feuerwear guarantees fair working conditions and wages for production in small family businesses in Europe.

"Green" electricity

Feuerwear ventures itself now to the last source of fire: "Since December 2010, we use only green electricity from Greenpeace Energy and setting therefore a clear sign against coal and nuclear power plants," says managing director of Feuerwear Robert Klüsener. At the same time the construction of new facilities for producing green power is promoted. This is also confirmed by Stiftung Warentest and TÜV Nord.
